5 rowers into the Waikato RPC
Rotorua has had 5 rowers selected for the Waikato Regional Performance Centre(WRPC) . Our nearest ‘best’ was last year with 3 rowers.The WRPC is one of the 4 Regional Performance Centres in New Zealand.
 Auckland RPC (Auckland/East Coast),Waikato RPC (Waikato/Bay of Plenty),Central RPC (Marlborough/Wellington/Wanganui) and Southern RPC (Canterbury/Otago/Southland) .Rowing NZ draws on these 4 pools of top rowers, for the Elite Rowing Team competing next year at the 2012 World Champs and the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
Our 5 rowers are;
Julia Edward; Bronze medalist in the Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls ,at the 2011 U23 World Rowing Champs, in Bled.
Laura Fischer ; 4th in the Women’s Quad Sculls ,at the 2011 U23 World Rowing Champs, in Bled.
Claudia Hyde; two Gold Medals for the Women’s eight and the Women’s Coxless Quad and a Bronze in the Women’s single sculls ,at the 2011 U21 Youth Cup in Australia.
Jeff Francis ; a Gold medal in the  Men’s U21 Coxed Eight  and the Men’s U21 Coxless Quad Sculls ,and a Bronze medal in the Men’s U21 Double Sculls at the 2011 NZ Rowing Champs.
Tosca Wilson; a Gold medal in the Women’s Club Double Sculls, and  a Silver in the Women’s Club Coxless Quad Sculls, at the 2011 NZ Rowing Championships.
