PHOTO; 21.5.11 WOMEN’S U23 QUAD TRAINING AT THE 2ND WINTER SERIES AT KARAPIRO,PRIOR TO THE WORLD U23 CHAMPIONSHIPS .

Laura Fischer misses Bronze by less than a second

With a  0:83 of a second distance behind Australia, at the finish line, the New Zealand Women’s Quad’s bold effort did not, unfortunately, gain them a medal.

Finishing 4th in a time of 6:31.71 in a world event is a success in itself albeit disappointing for the crew of Kate Reymer, Olivia Loe, Lucy Spoors

and Rotorua’s Laura Fischer.

Rowing New Zealand expects a 1st to 6th place in a world event and Laura certainly accomplished that. With Germany taking Gold and Italy the Silver, Laura was in fine company.
