Heat Results of the 2013 U23 World Rowing Champs

Rotorua rowers Claudia Hyde and Jeff Francis are racing at the 2013 World Under 23 Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria.

Jeff Francis should be feeling confident of an A Final after placing second in his Men’s Quad Heat in a time of 5:46.60.

He is seated in sight of a medal at the 4^th overall fastest time of the three heats and 17 crews.

His New Zealand Men’s Quad will join the 5 fastest boats; Switzerland, France, Romania, Germany and Poland from the heats in the Semi Finals. Hyde , 4^th in her heat, with the 5^th fastest time of the two Heats, has a very good chance for a medal.

She goes to repechage. It is Rowing New Zealand’s policy to send athletes able to place in the first 6, to international regattas.
