UPDATE ON U23 ROWING.....

Rotorua’s Jeff Francis and Claudia Hyde will row at the 2013 Under 23 World rowing Championships from 24th -28th July in Austria at the Linz-Ottensheim course.Claudia Hyde will compete in the Rowing NZ’s Women’s Quad. Claudia Hyde wrote to let us know she has one more week until racing.

It sounds like the boats to watch will be Poland, Germany and Italy. Hyde’s event heat will be at about 4pm. ” It'll be strange racing that late, I can already tell its going to be one antsy day waiting round for our heat” she said “No more sightseeing for us, with only a few more days to go we're on lockdown.”

Training is progressing well “We've been getting some good speeds from the crew.” said Hyde

” We're looking forward to racing, it's come around so quickly but we all feel ready for the challenge. “

Jeff will crew the Rowing New Zealand Men’s quad.
