Radical changes suit Rotorua Rowing Club…

A first place from; Rotorua Rowing Club’s Matthew Cooper in the Men’s Single Sculls , Connor Broughton and Andre Lelievre in the Men’s Novice Double Sculls and a first place from Sam Ashby, Connor Broughton, Tom Coleman, Andre Lelievre and Cox Ben Rufer in the Boys Novice Quad at he Karapiro ClubRegatta last Saturday.

RRC also gained nine second places and seven third places.

Following on from the radical changes to the Spring regatta, Karapiro Rowing changed the format of the December Club Regatta. This regatta has become a one day regatta with races held in divisions. The intention is to race crews up to twelve lanes across the lake, just as it was done in the 'good old days'. Novice events will still be raced at a maximum of eight lanes to lessen the potential damage to both boats and the hearts of the race umpires. 

Beautiful conditions prevailed at the regatta on Saturday .

Karapiro Club Regatta 1.12.12
