HEAD OF COACHING  ALASTAIR RIDDLE  021 447111

Hello everyone, as the season comes to a close. Good results from Maadi and North Island Secondary Schools and the national club championships as you'll have read. For me, the best thing about the season has been the way everyone's worked together, the consistently high level of fitness and good results from all rowers at regattas through the season. It’s felt good to be involved with the club.

In a couple of weeks the coaches will meet to review the 2009/2010 season and plan our approach for the next season. There are some things we have identified already that will better prepare our rowers and get us working together better as the Rotorua Rowing Club.  In the meantime, rowers should forget about rowing completely for a few weeks.

We'll be looking for new rowers early in May and will need some help from a few experienced rowers with getting them on the water. We'll get our continuing rowers organised and into the winter training program soon after.  Please continue your payments into the various group's rowing accounts, as it’s much easier if you can have some credit built up before club subscription payments start.

Thanks for all the support we've had from parents, committee and sponsors. Thanks to our coaches – it’s been good working with you as part of the RRC coaching team, and thanks to all our rowers - good work! Good attitudes! I look forward to another season working with you.
